Eyebrow Waxing - Basic Facts You Must Know Before Waxing Your Eyebrows

For people who do not have sensitive skin and are able to stand a little bit of pain and irritation on their skin, waxing eyebrows is a quick, easy and lasting way to get rid of the unwanted hairs around the eyebrows. Waxing will last longer than plucking but is definitely inadvisable for people who have sensitive skin, as the area is so close to the eyes, though it may be a little more expensive, it is often best to leave this technique to the professionals and go to a salon to have the wax administered by a trained beautician.

DIY or Would You Need Professional Help?
If you are confident you know what to do and are able to complete the procedure yourself in your own home then here are some tips to help you gain the perfect eyebrows you always dreamed of. The first thing you should do is to make sure that you are buying a good quality waxing kit, there should be a pot of wax, a spatula for application and some fabric strips for easy removal. Many of the better waxing kits on the market will also contain a soothing cream to apply after the hairs have been removed to help relax the skin and prevent any rash or irritation to occur. In order to prepare the eyebrows for waxing, you can brush the hairs in the direction of their natural growth and, standing a few feet back from the mirror, you should be able to make out the shape of the eyebrow and where you will need to remove any unwanted hairs.

Following Proper Procedures
Once you have made perfectly sure that you know where you need to apply the wax then you can start by applying a light layer of wax with the spatula, make sure that you apply it in the same direction as the hair growth and always start with the area under the eye first. Gently press the muslin fabric strips along the layer of wax, pressing it into place and stroke along the strip in the direction of the hairs in order to flatten them into the wax. Once the wax is applied it should be left for a few minutes or until the wax has begun to harden.

Once the wax is set you can remove the strips along with the hair. This need to be done by pulling the strip sharply against the growth of the hair and a swift quick movement is best so that you encounter the least amount of pain. The final points to remember when you decide to wax eyebrows it to never wax above the brow line, all the shaping should happen beneath the brow and never remove too much at a time, take little bits off slowly so that you avoid making any unwanted mistakes.
