False Eyelash Tips

Many women focus on making their eyes the most attractive feature on their face and they use false eyelashes to highlight their eyes. Short of growing eyelashes this works very well. It is important that when applying false lashes, you find the best fit and look so that people will notice the attractiveness of your eyes and not see the lashes as fake.

Here are some tips on the proper use of false eyelashes:

Tip 1: Choose and purchase the right type of false eyelashes

There are various types to choose from. Full eyelashes add density to your eyelash line, and individual eyelashes give a fuller look when used as a filler for your existing lashes. Full lashes are easier to apply, but often do not give a natural look, while individual lashes need patience to apply but present a more natural effect.

Tip 2: Know how to properly apply your false eyelashes

After selecting the type you prefer, properly apply the lashes by following these steps in the application:

Using an eyeliner, draw a clear line across your lash line. Spread the line slightly, using the tip of your little finger. This will hide your eyelash line when gluing on the fake lashes.

Make sure your hands are clean. Place a drop of eyelash glue onto your index finger. If you are using individual lashes, dab false eyelash glue at the tip of each lash. For full lashes, slide the full eyelash across the glue to lightly cover the surface. Allow the glue to set for around 10 seconds.

For individual false eyelashes, position each lash lace as close as you can to your eyelash line and secure it in place by pushing down the lash from the outside of your eye. To balance the application, start from the center of your eyelash, individually attaching the fillers and then move to the corners of the eye. Apply only a few eyelashes per eye to make a natural attractive look. For a full lash, position the lash starting from the center , securing the lashes towards the corners of your eyes.

Let the glue dry for a few seconds before applying your regular makeup.

Additional Tips

Know how to properly remove your false eyelashes. It is actually harder to apply your false lashes than to remove them, but you need to be cautious not to just peel it off and risk pulling out your natural eyelashes as well.

Adding a few individual lashes together with the right eye makeup can dramatically enhance the natural look of your eyes. Sometimes you do not even need full lashes in order to make your eyes the focus of your facial features.

Carefully apply your false lashes to achieve a natural look. Make sure your lashes are properly positioned and set and not hurriedly applied.

Some brands have self adhesive eyelashes for easier application. These are advisable for short term use only. If you choose to use the self adhesive kind of false lashes for long time wear, make sure you secure them with eyelash glue to stay on longer.

Learn About Organic Makeup and Cosmetics

When shopping for organic makeup, you are probably wondering why you should buy organic, and if all organic products are the same. Often times, people choose to use organic cosmetics based on personal preferences and what they are hoping to gain by switching to all natural products.

Not all organic makeup is the same, but if you read the label carefully, you can easily find out how they differ. You might see "Certified Organic" on some labels; this simply means that the makeup has adhered to strict standards for organic products to earn the certified label. It does not mean that other organic products do not use the same standards or quality. It simply indicates that the non-certified brands have not yet pursued official certification.

Also, remember to be labeled "Organic" a manufacturer needs to use only 70% organic ingredients, so read the label carefully to ensure that the ingredients that are important to you are natural. Many people prefer organic beauty products because they are all natural and chemical free. Many non-organic products use chemicals that are known to be irritating to the skin, and possibly toxic. Some people find when they switch to organic makeup, skin problems - such as eczema - begin to clear up. Also, your skin absorbs products put on it, so anything considered toxic may over time actually harm you. Some powders or mists can be inhaled during makeup application and if the product contains toxins or irritants, you will be inhaling them. This could cause damage and may even be a concern for those with allergies or asthma.

How to Make Lip Balm

Lip balm has been around for over a century. It is mainly used to help heal chapped lips, to moisturize them, and keep them more glowing and attractive. It is essential in locking in moisture. So you must take care of lips, since they do no have their own oil glands.

Most balm is made of petrolatum or petroleum jelly. Just like candle wax or paraffin, it is a partially hydrogenated oil. These act as band-aids, only giving temporary effects, so you need to reapply often.

Balms made from natural ingredients are best for your lips. So you can make your own discount lip balm from natural products as the following will show.

Homemade Lip Balm
Homemade balm is an ideal gift for special occasions such as Christmas. Below is a simple recipe that you can experiment with by adding different flavors. The main ingredient is beeswax, which is a natural wax produced by honeybees.

Before starting with the actual procedure, there are a few things that you need to gather. First, you need to purchase lip balm holders. You can find these in craft stores. Also you will need a saucepan, double boiler or a heat resistant bowl for melting the wax, and a glass measuring cup for pouring.

Beeswax Lip Balm Recipe

1-2 Tbsps (tablespoons) Beeswax
5-6 Tbsps of vegetable oil (you can use other oils such as sweet almond, olive oil or jojoba)
2 tsps (teaspoons) honey
2 drops of essential oils (you can use peppermint, lavender, chamomile, etc., or you can use half oil and half shea butter)
1 Vitamin E capsule

In a small saucepan or double broiler, melt together the beeswax in the oil. Once it is melted, remove from heat, add the honey, and continue mixing until the beeswax and the oil are well blended. Stir continuously and let the mixture cool down a little bit before adding the essential oils and the vitamin E.

You can also opt to melt them in a microwave. When using a microwave, make sure to watch it carefully, removing the beeswax and oil as soon as it melts.

Pour the contents into a glass measuring cup. Now pour them into the individual lip balm containers.

This step is optional. If you want to add different flavors into your lip balm mixture, separate them into the different glass containers and then add the flavors you want such as orange, lemon and peppermint. Don't worry if the mixture starts to harden, just place them back in the heat or a microwave to re-melt.

Make sure to let the mixture cool completely before covering the containers. Label your small containers for easy identification.

Isn't that easy? Now you can make your own lip balm and you can give them away as presents. Nothing beats a present handcrafted by you.

How to Handle Curly Hair

Things You'll Need:

Curly hair shampoo and conditioner
Silk solution, silk creme, or silk serum
Curl spray

Step 1
Use curly hair products! During the last few years, quite a few great product lines have designed and formulated shampoos, conditioners, solutions and much more for curly hair. These products really help! Curls need different care. Curls need frizz control, as well as moisture control. Too much humidity in the air, oh no! Air too dry, even worse! Winters and summers take their toll on curls. Curls need a bit of babying, especially as we age.

Even those that color and highlight still benefit more from curly hair products, than from color or dry hair products.

Step 2
Do not brush your hair often. Let your hair air dry as often as possible. Use finger brushing instead. Just run your fingers through your hair! You will be surprised what a difference it makes!

Step 3
Add a little silk solution to your hair after washing and conditioning, for extra softness. Use curl spray if you want more bounce and scrunge your curls!

Tips & Warnings:

Silk comes in several forms: Solution, serum, elixir, or creme. All forms are good. It's your choice! They are not the cheapest product, but very important to healthy curls.
For the really curly look, use curl booster and curl amplifier.
For the wet look, use a thick gel and apply it onto wet hair.
Do not apply too much silk. A little goes a long way. A dime sized amount should be plenty.

8 Essential Makeup Tips

Makeup is an essential part of most women's appearance. The cosmetics industry is a multi billion dollar market and for good reason. It is a fact that women have been using makeup throughout history in an effort to improve their appearance and accentuate their features. In fact, before we had MAC, Revlon, Cover Girl and all the others women used to make makeup out of anything they could find including, using juices from berries as rouge and lip color and using egg whites as a home made face powder.

Lucky for us we no longer have to get so innovative and desperate, we have an unlimited selection of products and colors to choose from that can enhance any and all facial features. Once you have selected the perfect makeup, it is time to find the perfect makeup tips to help you professionally apply your new makeup.

8 Tips for Applying Makeup

1. Make sure to wash and moisturize your face before applying any of your makeup. Use a moisturizer that is meant for your skin type. You will want to be sure to put moisturizer on your eyes and lip balm on your lips as well.

2. After you put on your foundation, use a translucent setting power to set it in place.

3.Use a neutral color eye shadow as a base on your entire eyelid.

4. To accent your eyes you will want to choose a mid tone hue. Put this in the corner of your eye in order to add emphasis. This color should not only look good with your skin but it should also look good with your jewelry and clothing as well.

5. Before applying eyeliner to your own eyes, you should practice so that your line will be both clean and straight. Eyeliner should be applied after you put on your eye shadow.

6. In order to create thick lashes you will want to use an eyelash curler. After curling your eyelashes apply two coats of mascara. It is a good idea to use waterproof mascara.

7. Your lips should be outlined with a lip liner. Make sure that you stick with the natural shape of your lips though. The point of using a lip liner is to simply make the natural shape of your lips more visible.

8. Once you have outlined your lips with lip liner you will want to fill them in with a moisturizing lipstick. In order for your lipstick to stay on longer you will want to make sure that it is transfer resistant.

Skin Aromatherapy Heals

Listen, while premium cosmetics manufacturers catch-up with common sense, you can stay ahead of the curve, using all natural skin aromatherapy as the foundation of your daily beauty routine. All-natural ingredients cost far less than commercial toners, cleansers, and wrinkle creams, and they save the earth as they protect and nourish your delicate complexion. No matter what your skin demands, all-natural delivers.

Skin Aromatherapy for Everyday Skin

Now, before I go on, remember, naturopaths, supermodels, and smart shoppers agree: Give up all those expensive designer-label cleansers, toners, moisturizers, and eye treatments. Even the product labeled "Facelift in a Jar" cannot revitalize your delicate complexion better than essential oils. For your everyday "combination" skin, make the switch to all-natural essential oil products. Even if you have used the very best brands-Philosophy, Bare Escentuals, and Bobbi Brown-your cleansing, moisturizing, and wrinkle-fighting products have contained wax, alcohol, and preservatives. The natural essential oil method deep cleanses, refreshes, and rejuvenates your skin without all those additives.

Your all-natural face has dry spots, oily patches, and a wrinkle or two. Filled with synthetic collagens and methyl-paraben, the priciest remedies seem to work, but you quickly will discover natural nutrient-packed and prepared fresh from the garden, out-performs all the packaged goods at a fraction of their price. Some essential oils clear-up your oily spots, and some fruity and fragrant oils replenish your dry spots. All of Nature's carrier oils smooth your wrinkles, making those under-eye puffy places disappear. When you use everyday aromatherapy for your skin, even the haughty PTA moms grudgingly will concede, "You look radiant."

One more thing, do not forget your "bumpy spots," too. Elbows and knees always require a little extra loving care. Regular moisturizing is good. Regular moisturizing with natural ingredients works even better, nourishing rough, dry skin while anti-oxidants whisk away free radicals. Bumpy spots also include ingrown hairs and razor burn. The very very best Bliss Spa product for treating delicate skin after waxing or shaving contains nothing but pure carrier oils, natural extracts, and a little sea salt-nothing you cannot mix-up on your own for considerably fewer dollars.

Aromatherapy for Troubled Skin

Oddly enough, even hardcore old-school dermatologists now agree your acne treatments should begin with holistic methods and then progress to dangerous, invasive, aggressive procedures only if natural remedies fail. Skin aromatherapy typically does not fail. Bio-medical researchers remain uncertain about the extent to which diet and hormones influence acne. Although they have conducted hundreds of carefully controlled studies, none has shown a decisive link between what you eat and what breaks out on your face, and none has shown that increases or alterations in your androgens and estrogens really determines the presence or absence of pimples. Several studies have shown, however, soothing, cleansing and revitalizing natural methods in combination with diet and exercise clears-up most common acne, whiteheads and blackheads.

What to do for Injured Skin

Seriously, working with the best among hundreds of skin aromatherapy recipes you will find online and at your local essential oils emporium, develop your own all-natural antiseptic and pain-relieving salves and ointments. Calming chamomile and lavender work really well on burns, taking away the pain and minimizing the risk of infection. Mixed with cooling, soothing, healing aloe Vera, chamomile and lavender also take the redness and sting from even the nastiest sunburns; and, applied regularly, the all-naturally ointment typically speeds healing, too. Several websites publish wonderful kid-friendly skin aromatherapy recipes, including one called "boo-boo juice." A strong-but-gentle combination of analgesics and disinfectants, "boo-boo juice" takes the owie out of almost all routine playtime injuries. Because several clinical studies have indicated anti-biotics contribute to frequent yeast infections in girls and young women, skin aromatherapy effectively replaces Neo-Sporin, eliminating the risk.

Underarm Hair Removal Methods

Underarm hair removal is simply a must for women these days. A hair free underarm is considered sexy and very feminine. What are the most common methods for underarm hair removal?

Shaving is one of the most common and widely used methods for removing underarm hair. The benefit to this method is that it is very cost effective. One razor can last a long time if you take care of it. You can buy bags of disposable razors that could last you many years. However, shaving is also irritating to the skin. When the hair starts to grow back, it will often get quite itchy and irritated.

Waxing is another very popular choice among women. By ripping the hair out by the root, it will take a lot longer to grow back. Your underarms are sensitive, so one of the downsides to this method is that it can hurt quite a bit to pull the hair out from this area of the body.

Hair removal creams are a very popular choice, which doesn't really have a downside. Creams like Revitol work to remove the hair almost instantly, and the hair stays away for a long time, similar to waxing. The creams are inexpensive and do not irritate the skin at all either, which makes it perfect for those who are prone to razor burn or irritation caused by shaving or waxing. The best part is that it is pain free. Unlike waxing, it gently removes the hair without having to rip it out.

These are some of the most popular methods for underarm hair removal, and they are all wonderful methods to use with their advantages and down sides. Choose the method that works best for you, and soon you will find your underarms smooth and sexy.

One of the quickest male hair removing techniques is using a razor and shaving it off. This is a simple way to get hair removal at home, but the process is tedious and will need to be done every few days. Another at home technique is using some type of depilatory cream. If a man is serious about getting rid of his unwanted hair, there are permanent options. Summer 2009 Makeup Tips

This season the trend from spring 2009 continues; keep your skin looking as healthy and natural as possible and play up your features with a splash of bold color. Summer is flirty, fun and ready to have a good time all day without worrying about your makeup.
Foundation should be kept as minimal as possible. Using tinted moisturizer is one of this season's hottest tips. Dot it along your cheeks, your forehead, on your chin and down your nose and blend outward from your nose for a flawless finish. Of course, pick a brand that gives you SPF 15 for extra protection against summer's high UVA/UVB rays. Mineral makeup is also a great choice for summer 2009 makeup. Most brands automatically come with SPF, and the powders are so light and weightless you don't feel like you're wearing makeup at all. Some even have mattifying properties to help control shine that you don't get with liquid makeup.
Blush is still sheer pinks, roses, peaches and apricots. Keep it light and natural. You want to look radiant, not like you're wearing blush. For a different way to apply blush, pull away from the apples of your cheeks and closer to your temple, blending in to your hairline.
Eyeshadow for summer 2009 makeup tips is the most fun. Go wild with a bright blue, green, purple or teal. It's easy to wind up looking like a clown with colors this bright and bold, so use a single color at a time.
1. Add a punch of color to the outside "v" of a neutral eye. 2. Create a "smokey eye" using a bold color in place of brown or charcoal. 3. Sweep a single bright color over the lid from eyelash to just above the crease and blend with your highlighter to the eyebrow. 4. Simply use a bright colored eyeliner in addition to your normal eyeshadow.
Lips this season are going glossy, but think "subtle shine" vs "oil slick". Stick with the same skin-brightening colors for lips as you do for blush; pinks, roses, light corals and apricots. Applying a balm with sunscreen prior to your gloss will also help you avoid burnt lips should you be caught outside for long periods of time.
And finally, don't forget to make sunscreen a habit.

Working Women and Beauty

You know how sometimes we wish that we could just wake up, get dressed, head out the door, jump into the car and look like a movie star waltzing into the office? Well, the bad news is that....it never happens that way, and it will never....EVER! So, what's a working woman or mother to do but to do SOMETHING (anything) about juggling family life and business so that she would look every bit the movie star that she deserves to look like every morning?
That's the bad news. The good news is that working women should have a load of these beauty tips that can shorten their time in the morning. It's a dreadful chore trying to get the kids (if you have them. Bless you if you don't have them yet) and yourself ready in the morning. Getting up early in the morning, bug-eyed, becomes something of a nightmare.
But try some of these short-cut tips.
Flat hair or bad hair day solution Most women with long or long-ish hair will have problems dealing with unruly curls or NO CURLS or hair-sticking-out-everywhere-syndrome some mornings. You deal with them by setting your hair at night...and yes, this means going to bed with curlers and some setting agent. The down side is that you're probably going to have to change the pillow case a lot more during the week but hey, nothing in this world is free.
Put your hair in rollers (you don't have to do this for the whole head) while it's still half-dry and them put some gel or setting solution to it before going off to bed.
Use celebrity makeup as an example This is truly easy. Most of us would tear our hair out in front of the mirror trying to make ourselves up in the morning. Instead of doing that, try this. Cut out pictures of celebrities who look good in magazines and have them placed in your drawer. Before you go to sleep at night, pick one out, something you'd like to try tomorrow morning, and stick it to the mirror.
The next morning, duplicate that to the best of your ability.
The night before If you want to look young and beautiful the next day, you'll have to do your homework the night before - I'm serious, there's no exception to this rule.
You want to save time in the morning without sacrificing the way you look, then you'll have to get everything prepared at night. Working women are considered the pillars of every family. Not only do they have to do their bit in bringing in the dough but they're shouldering the responsibilities of caring for the family, herself and kids. Harrowing task, if you ask me, but not impossible.

To help with the process of preparing for bathing suit season people of all walks of life make weekly or even every other daily visits to tanning salons to improve their pigment and build up a deep dark tan that looks like it was acquired on some tropic deserted island in the Caribbean Sea.
Residents of the inner cities of Pennsylvania find that a visit to a Butler, PA tanning salon is the perfect way to start working on a golden brown complexion that gets citizens ready to go out in public in a new swim suit and look like they belong by the pool. What Makes Up Mineral Powder Makeup?

Cosmetic technology has started a new revolution with the introduction of mineral powders that have proven to perform wonders in makeup for any climate and for any type of skin. Mineral powders can be used even after the completion of cosmetic treatments, since they are very gentle on the skin.
What is mineral makeup?
The powder is made from high pigment minerals that have been crushed very finely. Mineral powder also produces natural UV radiation protection since the powder base uses zinc oxide and titanium dioxide as basic substances. It has no dyes, no talc, no fillers, and no chemicals added.
Use on Any Type of Skin
Mineral powder makeup is recommended for any type of skin. Its zinc oxide content makes the substance anti inflammatory, and can be used even if you have skin blemishes or rosacea. The finely crushed micro ionized pigments, does not make skin pores clog. The skin is allowed to breathe and produce the vitamins essential for healthy skin. The risk for allergies to occur is also very minimal. Moisture and hydration on the skin is retained since there is no talc in the powders. Because most of the mineral powders have zinc oxide, titanium dioxide, gold, aluminum, and magnesium, the properties inherent in these minerals refresh, relax and automatically rejuvenate a person's skin.
Long Lasting
Mineral powder make up is very versatile, stays on long and shows the same vibrant result even if the level of humidity is high and the person using it sweats. This type of mineral face makeup never runs. It is a matte powder that easily blends on the skin and feels and looks good. The powder is both healing and healthy. You may even use it to conceal scars from burns. It is useful in hot climates and can be used as a sun protector with a 15 to 20 SPF rating. It also has a proven 90 minute water resistant factor.
Pure and Gentle
Many prefer to use these powders because of the purity of their mineral makeup ingredients and the gentle effect on the skin. Their inorganic substances, tone and soothe the skin, fine lines are minimized and skin imperfections can be concealed to show flawless skin. Some dermatologists and physicians have even prescribed the use of mineral based makeup for those who have undergone cosmetic treatments. Even after your face has been washed several hours before, the natural radiance and suppleness of your skin is still visible.
Many dermatologists have given feedback that because mineral powder makeup eliminates the common skin irritants found in makeup like: preservatives, synthetic dyes, fragrances and binders, mineral powders are considered "purer" and are gentler to the skin.
Caution: Not All are The Same
Tough mineral powder makeup brands may claim that they use pure mineral formulations in their products, not all the mineral content can be considered pure and non irritant. There is a natural mineral called bismuth oxycholoride that can be harmful to certain types of skin and are found in some brands.
Bismuth oxychloride is a mineral byproduct of copper and lead processing, and is used to bind some makeup products. It gives mineral powder makeup a certain "candlelight" glow on your skin.
Sensitive Skin Beware
If you have sensitive skin, rosacea or acne, it is best to avoid using any product with this mineral since it can cause rashes, itching, and can be a skin irritant. In large doses, it can cause cystic acne to develop as well. It is best to avoid the mineral powder products that have this particular ingredient if you have very sensitive skin. Some products though may contain very little amounts of this ingredient and may not be an irritant.
For your personal safety, it is recommended that for any type of makeup you purchase, take caution. Do not simply believe what a product advertisement claims. Check the product content and try the product first on your skin, in minimal amounts to see the effect. If no signs of irritation show and you like the look and feel, purchase the product.

Understanding the Benefits of Facials

Facials are treatments of the epidermis designed to enhance the look and texture of facial skin by cleansing, hydrating, removing dead skin cells, unblocking clogged pores, and/or tightening the facial skin. Facials can be as simple as using an old-fashioned recipe at home or as elaborate as a full day spent being pampered by a professional aesthetician at a fancy spa. The benefits of facials can go more than skin deep, though, providing a sense of relaxation and peace while enhancing self confidence and promoting a general feeling of well being. Here I will explain some of the different types of facials and the processes involved in them, and I will give you a few tips on making the most of your facial experience.

A facial can be a one step process or can involve multiple different applications. Each type of facial application has a different purpose and result. The first step in a facial, after routine cleansing, is the application of a facial rinse, or astringent, also called toner, which is used to clean excess oil and dirt from the tiny pores of the skin. In addition, to cleansing, the astringent tightens the facial skin. Most astringents contain some type of harmless acidic compound which draws the pores closed, resulting in a firmer skin texture. Popular recipes used in home facial washes include lemon or orange juice mixed with a small amount of mineral water and applied with a cotton ball to the face. Many name brand facial toners are available at most drug and retail stores and work on the same principle using a variety of natural or synthetic astringents.

A facial scrub is another form of the facial, usually used after the toner. The scrub's main purpose is to remove dead skin cells, allowing the fresher, softer skin underneath to show through which gives the face radiance and a more youthful look and feel. Sugar scrubs are popular at home and are can be made simply by mixing some sugar (brown or white) into a small amount of olive oil, applying to the face in a gentle circular motion and rinsing with plain water.

A popular image when thinking of a facial includes a person lying down with a thick coating on the face and cucumber slices on the eyes. The coating on the face is called a mask, for obvious reasons, and there are many different types of masks for a wide variety of desired results. There are masks for deep pore cleansing, for firmer skin, for intensive hydration or for removing excess oil, among others. Some masks harden and peel off, mostly for the purpose of removing dirt and oil from deep within the pores, while others remain soft and are rinsed off, such as deeply moisturizing or exfoliating masks. And the cucumber slices on the eyes actually do serve a purpose by slightly tightening the skin around the eyes through the astringent properties of the cucumber!

The last step in a full facial is to moisturize. Moisturizers are chosen depending on skin type and add the finishing touch by further hydrating the skin for maximum softness and radiance. A moisturizer is generally applied sparingly and left to soak into the skin. A facial moisturizer should really be used every day, but no facial experience is truly complete without this last step.

Whether you pay for the full experience at a luxury spa or pamper yourself at home, you'll feel the benefits of a facial long beyond the time it takes to have one. Soothing music, flickering candles and a subtle scent in the air will enhance your experience even further. Enjoy the lasting effects of rejuvenation and renewed self confidence that a facial can bring.

The Methods and Variations on Eyebrow Enhancers

A perfectly sculpted eye brow is a work of art. Just ask the salon experts and millions of people who live for their eyebrows. Your eyebrows define your entire face. The shape, the style and the color say more about you than you may think. An eyebrow can either flatter your eyes or make them look dark, small and frumpy. When it comes to your eyebrows, you need an eyebrow enhancer that will not only work wonders for the overall look of your eyes, but also your entire face.

So what are eyebrow enhancers?
Eyebrow enhancers are tools that are designed to help shape and accentuate your eyebrows. When used properly, eyebrow enhancer tools can give your face a polished look. You'd be surprised what beautiful eyebrows can do for you.

The Perfect Brow
So what are the methods of eyebrow enhancements? Many women will go to a salon to get their eye brows reshaped, re-plucked (or waxed) and re-colored every month or so. However, with eyebrow enhancer kits, it's possible to skip the salon visit and design your perfect brows at home. This could save you a lot of time and money in the long run, especially considering it is fairly easy to obtain the perfect brow in the comfort of your own home.

The Various Eyebrow Enhancer Tools
One of the most common eyebrow enhancers is the 'stencil' which helps you develop the perfect brow shape. You simply place it over your brow and pluck (or wax) the stray hairs away. The eyebrow stencil works in the same way any other stencil does.

Another tool that you will need is tweezers. Tweezers comes in a variety of styles but the easiest ones are the metal tweezers which have a tipped edge. Tweezers are used to pluck the stray hairs at the root. If this is your first time plucking your eyebrows, you can expect your eyes to water and it to hurt. However, this pain eventually goes away once your eye brows get used to the routine.

Additional eyebrow enhancer tools include an eyebrow pencil, eyebrow mascara and eyebrow holding spray which all sculpt, shape and color your eye brows the way you want them.

How to Dry Hair Properly

In my previous article "How to Wash Hair Properly", we discussed how warm water and the right kind of lathering could do wonders for your hair. After painstakingly analyzing the reasons behind the steps to better washing results, it's time to move on to more serious business: drying, combing and brushing your hair properly.

How to Dry Hair with Towel?

Here's a secret that not many people know: rubbing your hair with a towel after a shower is a bad, bad idea. As you may already know, rubbing causes friction. Friction causes heat, because two surfaces are unduly opposing each other vertically. Add all these up, and you get frayed, damaged hair.

A quick and easy solution out of this particular conundrum is to pat instead of rub. Patting does the job, though it might appear that you're taking longer than is warranted. Nevertheless, if you actually compare the time needed to pat hair dry and rub hair dry, the two aren't far apart. Develop your own style of patting and your own rhythm: do it for your hair's sake.

Blow-Drying is Evil

Human hair was designed to shield your head from the sun, and to keep warmth in when it's necessary to do so. The human scalp was designed to sweat and produce oil to create equilibrium between the hair and scalp and the outer environment.

The scalp and hair however, were not designed to withstand a consistent stream of hot air more than 40 degrees Celsius. We are talking of course of the humble yet violent blow dryer. The blow dryer may have been useful to Hollywood stars, theater actors and hair stylists for the past few decades, but the fact remains that it damages the hair.

Consistent with this fact is the general appearance of actors' hairs when they are simply seen in public. If you need proof, look at Pamela Anderson's candid shots in public. If you look closely, most of her hair is already frayed. The whole head of hair lacks volume, and seems to be dried-out beyond repair; which is probably true.

How to Style Hair Safely?

As a rule of thumb, never apply hair gels and similar styling agents when your hair is completely dry. The reason for this rule is that the hair will lose its natural chemistry if there's no moisture to balance and buffer the chemicals in the styling agents. That's why hair stylists often shampoo their clients first before using chemicals: it preserves the pH level and helps reduce the over-all damage to the hair.

Tips on Safely Blow-Drying Hair

If you require blow-drying on a daily basis because of the nature of your occupation (or preoccupation), you can still use it but you have to change a few things.

Most folks prefer to blow-dry until their hair is crisp (like when they woke up that morning). This is a very bad practice. Instead of waiting for your hair to dry to this degree, stop when your hair is already just pleasantly damp. Simply allow your hair to dry naturally.

Natural Spider Vein Removal

Why Spring Time is Embarrassing

Year after year, as the weather warms women start to worry about their legs. They worry to the point that some of them refuse to wear skirts or dresses because of spider veins. They can be found on the legs, calves or the back of the knees. Swollen veins are usually the result of poor blood flow, or even from flowing backwards. The veins can also weaken and pool, leaving bluish veins or bruising. These can be very troublesome and embarrassing.

When it first happens, most people notice swelling a slight irritation in the problem area, you can go to a doctor for it but the procedures are painful and expensive, and often return. I don't know about you but I don't have tons of extra money lying around.

Fight the Good Fight

Spider veins are genetic which means they are passed down from generation to generation. If your mother or grandmother had them, this raises your chances of getting them by quite a bit. To strengthen good veins there are exercise that you can do like, calf raises, stair climbing and walking.

Cause and Effect

Spider Veins can be caused by:

  • genetics
  • being over weight
  • trauma
  • childbirth
  • standing for long periods

How Veins Break Down

Like a road veins can become weak and crack with the wear and tear of life. The majority of people who suffer from spider veins are women. One leading cause of spider veins is childbirth because of the immense pressure involved in labor and delivery.

Dealing with the Problem

Early detection will save you a lot of hassle. There are short term solutions like stockings and support hose, but they do not solve the problem the only hide it. Diet is also very important Fiber can help lower blood pressure and relieve pressure on the vein walls. Another thing you can do is take Vitamin C it can help reduce the chances of getting spider veins; where as Vitamin K is a natural spider vein removal cream that works in as little as 45-60 days and is inexpensive.

The biggest key in preventing spider veins is early detection, but if you already have spider veins look for a natural spider vein removal cream. These creams can be inexpensive and work well.

Makeup For Oily Skin - What You Need to Know

As all women who have oily skin know, you need to be careful to choose the best makeup for oily skin to ensure you don't get any sort of acne breakouts.

There are a many cosmetic lines out there, but most of them are not designed for women with oily skin. If you have greasy skin, you are far more likely to suffer from blemish breakouts - something you definitely avoid.

Now the thing to realize here is that blemishes are caused by too much oil in the skin. Oil produced inside the hair follicles, called sebum, normally moves along the hair to the outside of the skin pore. But sometimes, the movement of sebum oil is blogged by other dried sebum, dirt, etc. The blockage causes the sebum to mix with dead skin cells, bacteria, and dirt. The result is a blackhead.

Quite often, that blackhead will turn into a pimple because the area around the blackhead is more prone to infection, probably due to higher levels of bacteria present there. This infection of the P. acnes bacteria causes pimple outbreaks.

So, as you see, it's important that you try to reduce the level of oil in your skin. Wearing a makeup not friendly to oily skin will trap all the oil underneath and cause breakouts. Make up for oil-prone skin should NEVER be oil-based. Oil-based makeup will clog up your pores and lead to the development of blackheads - if you have a lot of natural oil in your skin. You should also seek out natural makeup for oily skin that contains only natural ingredients. This ensures that you don't have any sort of harsh chemicals irritating your skin and causing acne breakouts.

Consider getting a special makeup for acne prone skin to ensure you don't have those nasty pimple breakouts occurring.

If you are looking for makeup for oily skin, you need to look seriously at getting some acne makeup products. These will help to keep your skin clear and blemish free -- even when wearing makeup.

Perfumes And Essential Oils

We enjoy a perfume lover's heaven in modern times, with consumers able to access some of the finest produce from the famous perfume houses of the world. In this regard our current affluence would be beyond the comprehension of those people back in our history who valued aromatic substances as much as gold.

Wonderful scents and perfumes are now easily available in toiletries and body perfumes although the costs are relatively high, particularly products based on purely natural oils. This demand has increased with the growth of new professions such as aromatherapy which depends upon products untainted by chemicals in order to offer healing and give clients relief from suffering. Aromas provide a very pleasant and effective therapy. We have experienced a fascinating development in the use of aromatics and the emerging science of osmics.

The natural sensory enjoyment of perfumes out in the garden provides us with delightful olfactory experiences when we are out in the open air. However, through the sophisticated art of the perfumier we are now able to enjoy perfumes at any time we choose.

Perfume represents a special cultural refinement and almost a personal necessity for women, but there are also many scents and essential oils available for men to use and enjoy. As consumers, we are offered a bewildering range of different perfume labels from which to choose. For decision making we must rely upon our intuitive reaction to a product and in its use, remind ourselves that subtlety is best.

Incense sticks provide a means of perfuming through fumes arising from burning aromatic material. This is where our word for perfume originated.

In a variety of ways we seek to indulge our sense of olfactory as we continue to increase the use of perfumes in our lives. And of course, regardless of personal wealth, we all share the freedom to enjoy the perfumes in nature in our walks in the wild, in our enjoyment of our garden, or in the delicate scent of a rose.

We live in the developed countries with a general affluence beyond any previously known era in history and which allows us choices in utilising products that were once luxury items. This applies particularly to our use of perfume both as a means of sensory satisfaction as well as for more practical purposes. Perfume continues as a subject of fascination today.

The simplest method of enjoyment is through awareness of deeper respiration.

Aromatherapy or the science of Osmics is proving immensely popular when applied in self help or in professional healing. It is a delightful way to employ natural perfumes to assist mood and mind states and is particularly helpful as an adjunct to relaxation techniques and stress relief.

As important as the absorption of natural essential oils through massaging into the skin is the vital intake of energy through olfaction and direct absorption to the brain with inhalation. Whereas the popular concept of aromatherapy is associated with massage and relaxation, inhalation of perfumes offers exciting extended possibilities of affecting and benefiting the whole psyche - our mind, moods and nervous system. The subtlest affect is upon our spiritual faculty of inspiration which is so closely related to the respiratory action of inspiring.

Perfumes, music, gemstones and other subtle healing methods have a rightful place alongside the more regularly employed techniques used in naturopathic treatment and spiritual healing.
